Chanting is Medicine and Prasadam is Diet

We want to distribute our literature and books within as well as our prasadam, and injecting our Hare Krishna medicine within the ear. So, reading of the literature and hearing of the chanting is the medicine, and prasadam is the diet. So, if diet and medicine are properly administered the disease of maya will be cured. But the physician must be always healthy. People may not say, physician is ill thyself. That means the preachers must be of highly elevated character, following strictly the rules and regulations and chanting regularly in the temple.

All Glories to Srila Prabhupada!

In the evening of the most auspicious day of Sri Radhastami, we had a ritvik initiation ceremony. 8 new devotees came forward to take the oath to chant 16 rounds of the Hare Krishna Mahamantra and to follow the four regulated principles which is no meat eating, no illicit sex, no intoxication and no gambling for the rest of their lives.

The names of the new initiates are:

- Vamsidhari Dasa

- Aruna Locana Dasa

- Prahladananda Dasa

- Mahesvara Dasa

- Yogeshvara Krishna Dasa

- Paramatma Dasa

- Virendra Dasa

- Vishnu Priya Devi Dasi

- Janavi Devi Dasi

- Hema Lata Devi Dasi

All the initiates were joyous to have been accepted by Srila Prabhupada, the original acharya of the Hare Krishna movement and to become His disciples. A yajna was conducted and the vows took by the initiates was solidified. The ceremony ended off with kirtan and the final arati of the day.
